What is sublimation?
Sublimation is the transition of a substance directly from the solid to the gas phase without passing through on intermediate liquid phase. Sublimation can only happen when there is a marked change in temperature. With the use of this exciting process, intricate images can be embedded into all kinds of materials suitable for sublimation. Today there are many materials suitable for sublimation. Sometimes sublimation can be done directly into the material (example solid surface materials). But mostly the material has a special coating suitable for sublimation. For more information about sublimation materials go to materials.
For sublimation you need the WPE sublimation heat press. This is a combined machine with double sided preheating, aluminium heating plates at the bottom, a hot air circulation oven on the top side and vacuum membrane press in one chassis. With this machine you can also produce 3D sublimation products giving an excellent simultaneous sublimation print on the main face & side of the material.
